23 Mar How to video call your family | Step-by-step Video guides
With the government getting more strict on Social Distancing, it will be more important than ever to know how to stay in touch with your loved ones.
The best way would be via video, but we know just how difficult this can be for those who have never had to do this before.
Thankfully, the BBC have helped with this by providing a number of instructional videos on how to do this for various devices and apps.
What App Should You use?
If you have a phone made by Google, OnePlus, LG, Honor, Huawei, LG, Sony or Samsung, it is an Android phone. In the case, there are plenty of free apps you can use to make video calls including Google Duo, Facebook Messenger, Skype, WhatsApp and Zoom. WhatsApp is the most common and would be the best to use across all the different operating systems. It doesn’t matter what phone you or your family have, WhatsApp will work on them.
iPhone, iPad or Mac users can video call a friend or relative using FaceTime which comes pre-installed on all of these devices. However, your friend or relative must be using an iPhone, iPad or Mac too as FaceTime only works on Apple devices.
